I know I have three journals; I had a livejournal before, during and after it was popular, I jumped on the myspace bandwagon very shortly after it became a bandwagon, and I also have a mixi, but no-one outside Japan (save a few university classes) know what mixi is. This is going to be different. I know you’ve all read hundreds of blogs by ALTs in Japan, some of them good, others less so. This will, ideally, be somewhere in between outpost nine (http://gaijinsmash.net) and Josh in Japan (which, apparently, has gotten better since the first few podcasts, but I don’t have my time to read anything that sucks so much from the outset, no matter what).

I made a counter. I’m also working out editing all the options on this page to make it look nice, finding a new image that isn’t copyrighted (I’m not so sure about the current image) and making this more of a presentable journal, something the kids will be proud of (the kids, alas, are still hypothetical).

For the next thirteen weeks I’ll be doing all the things I love to do in my little place in the world, before going out to the big wide日本語を話せることの world.
